The war memorial at Tempsford had a large raised gravelled area aound the base which was looking very tired and also took up a large portion of the parking area.
we excavated the old area and built a new base around the memorial.
600mmx900mm x50mm slabs were laid around the memorial these had a non slip surface.
To raise the slabs slighty an engineering brick was laid around the perimeter first then the slabs were laid on top of the brick's.
200mmx200mm oak post's were then set around the base with detachable chains for access.
The area was then built up with crushed tarmac and compacted to blend in with existing car park.
